Our final post for this series is dedicated to one of the most popular Latin-American artists from the 21st century. Her most famous song, Hips Don't Lie, broke the record for most sales in a single week, and topped the charts in 55 countries. So who is this mystery star? You guessed it --- Shakira, Shakira!

Shakira's music features latin beats mixed with lyrics that speak of everything from financial burdens to love stories. Her music has reached an incredibly wide audience.  Another group shares a similar vibe as Shakira, in harmonic/melodic structure and most importantly beat pattern. The Balkan Paradise Orchestra was formed in 2015 after a group of friends developed a fascination with the Balkan brass style of music. Since their inception, they have released three albums as well as toured worldwide. They have a diverse audience and strive to truly put on a show with every performance. Below is a video of own of their live performances. You can see the crowd reacting more as a crowd would at a pop music concert and less like that of an instrumental concert -- and they are playing into it.
